Paying tribute to Count Otto V. Bismarck: the founding father of the German empire, initiator of pioneering social reform (the introduction of statutory health and accident insurance is regarded to this day as a pioneering step towards a modern welfare system), the Iron Chancellor of Prussia and undoubtedly an ingenious tactician. He is with good reason one of the most influential characters in German history, whose legancy lives to the present day.

The famous Prussian statesman, Otto von Bismarck, has inspired Montblanc to create a unique, strictly limited edition fountain pen made of 750 18k solid white gold, whose shape and careful attention to detail reflect the character and the era of Count Otto von Bismarck. The strikling top of the cap, with the Montblanc star emblem in mother-of-pearl, is based on Bismarck’s legendary spiked helmet, whilst the setting of his coat of arms at the bend the elegantly shaped clip resembles the apaulettes of his dress uniform. The German imperial eagle, the oak leaf, the uniform mountings and the tendrils of the Bismarck coat of arms – these insignia of Bismarck, masterfully worked into the black lacquer of the barrel in yellow gold – revive the epoch of the empire. The fine engraving of the Prussian imperial eagle decorates the 18k – 750 gold nib (size not indicated, but appears to be Medium) of this impressive writing instrument which, in homage to the year of the empire’s establishment, is produced in a limited edition of 71 pieces worldwide.
It comes with all original boxes, papers and packaging: Outer box, inner box, display box, booklet/International Service Certificate (duly stamped). The pen was purchased @ Montblanc Flagship store in Barcelona (Spain) Mint condition. Never used and never inked.
